Nogales mayor dies of heart failure at UMC

Nogales mayor Ignacio J. Barraza died of heart failure this morning at University Medical Center. Barraza, 38, had checked himself into the hospital on Monday because he was feeling sick. He had a long-term illness.
He had been the mayor of Nogales since January.
Barraza received a heart transplant 19 years ago at University Medical Center.
Barraza is survived by his mother, Jaimina Barraza, and his brother, Marco Mada. Martinez Funeral Chapel in Nogales is handling arrangements for services.
