Forty illegal entrants were found by Border Patrol agents Tuesday night inside a drop house in Rio Rico.

Agents received a tip that the house was being used to house illegal border crossers before they were picked up and taken north. When they arrived about 10 p.m. a man answered the door and allowed them inside to look around, said Sean King, Border Patrol Tucson Sector spokesman.

They found 40 illegal entrants from Mexico inside. None needed medical attention. Three of them had been previously deported and were processed for formal removal. The other 37 were processed and were voluntarily taken back across the border, he said.

Based on interviews with the people in the house, agents don’t believe any of the people running the operation were at the house at the time of the arrests, King said.
