Four UA football players arrested, suspendedAltercation early Friday morning leads to arrests

The four UA football players suspended on Friday by coach Mike Stoops were identified in a police report this morning.
Early Friday morning, University of Arizona police cited quarterback C.J. Sedoris, 19, for suspicion of driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content of .08 or higher, driving a vehicle with liquor in his body and possessing fake identification.
Third-string quarterback Tyler Lyon, 20, linebacker Cole Graybill, 20, and defensive back Kyle Monson, 19, were all cited for minor in possession of alcohol.
UAPD officers responded to a phone call at 12:34 a.m. reporting a fight at the Sigma Pi fraternity house, 1525 E. Drachman St., said Sgt. Eugene Mejia, the UAPD’s spokesman. No punches were thrown, but Graybill reportedly threatened to bash a partygoer’s head with a brick he was holding, Mejia said.
By the time officers arrived, the players had left in Sedoris’ truck, Mejia said. Sedoris was pulled over at 12:39 a.m. as he drove west on Mabel Street, past Euclid Avenue, Mejia said. UA coach Mike Stoops confirmed Monday that four players have been suspended from the team indefinitely, but would not say who. Stoops said that one is a scholarship player and the other three are walk-ons. The four arrested would fit Stoops’ description: Lyon is a scholarship player, and Sedoris, Graybill and Monson are walk-ons.
Stoops said none of the four players would have been factors in Arizona’s 29-27 loss to New Mexico on Saturday. The four will be allowed to practice with the team but will not travel or dress for games, Stoops said.
“There were no guys who had significant roles in Saturday’s game,” Stoops said. “We had four kids make very selfish and immature decisions, and they’ll face the consequences.”
Friday’s incident marks the third reported alcohol-related incident this year involving UA football players: Starting quarterback Willie Tuitama was cited for minor in possession in February after officers responded to squeaking tires and loud noise coming from an on-campus parking lot. Defensive end Louis Holmes was arrested July 1 following a scuffle at The Pussycat Lounge, a Scottsdale-area nightclub. Officers said alcohol was a factor in Holmes’ arrest.
