The Pima County Sheriff's Department has released the names of two hikers who were killed during a flash flood at Sabino Canyon Recreation Area on Saturday.
Authorities recovered the bodies of Timothy Hahn, 25, and Angela Knoche, 19, on Sunday after they were swept away by a wall of water while hiking the canyon.
Hahn's body was discovered Saturday night, but weather conditions prevented authorities from recovering the body, said Deputy Dawn Hanke, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman.
Hahn's body was recovered early Sunday morning, Hanke said.
Hahn and Knoche were hiking with three other people before the floods occurred, she said.
Hahn, who lived in Tucson, was an active duty member of the military, but his branch of service or duty station was unknown, she said.
Authorities did not find Knoche's body until Sunday morning, she said.
More than 50 people were hiking Bear Canyon and Seven Falls when the water levels began to rise around 2 p.m. Most of the survivors were flown out by helicopters and others walked out after climbing to higher elevations.
