With more rain expected after yesterday's welcome moisture, the National Weather Service has extended its flash flood watch through 8 p.m. tonight.
Two roads were closed to traffic early this morning, according to the Pima County Sheriff's Department. One is Overton Road at the Cañada del Oro Wash. The other is Cocio Road at White Eagle Road. Both are on the northwest side.
Several roads in Pinal County are also closed. (See info box on the right.)
The flood watch covers all of Pima County and the Tucson metropolitan area, southeast Pinal County and all of Santa Cruz, Cochise, Graham and Greenlee counties.
The Weather Service forecast calls for showers and thunderstorms through tonight, increasing the risk of flooding on ground saturated by yesterday's rain.
