Release of Harry Potter book and Midnight Magic Party — Barnes & Noble, 7325 N. La Cholla Blvd. J. K. Rowling's "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" will go on sale at midnight. The book is the seventh and final in the Harry Potter series. The event includes a trivia competition, costume contest, amulet/wand crafts, magic demonstrations and much more. 7 p.m. July 20. Library Reading Cafe — Oro Valley Public Library, 1305 W. Naranja Drive. This month's title is "The Boys Start the War" by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. Summer Art Classes — Toscana Studio and Gallery, 9040 N. Oracle Road. Children can choose from clay, plaster, wire, rope or mold-making to build a sculpture, learn oil painting or learn mixed-media blueprint collage. Grades 3 and up. Parents can choose the morning session from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or the afternoon session from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Classes will be held Mondays through Thursdays, July 23-Aug. 2. The Sonoran Sea Aquarium presents this program about the lives and importance of sharks and rays, with an emphasis on the Sea of Cortez species. This is a summer reading program special event. Elk-Calling Contest — Sportsmans Warehouse, 3945 W. Costco Drive. The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation will hold its first elk-calling contest at the store. Food and lots of elk calling. Seminars will be held throughout the day. 9 a.m.-6 p.m. July 21. In lieu of an entry fee, participants are asked to donate a nonperishable food item. "Archaeological Evidence of Women on the Spanish Frontier" — Old Pueblo Archaeology Center, 5100 W. Ina Road, Bldg. 8. Archaeologist Rebecca J. Waugh will discuss how historical supply invoices and records, paintings and other artifacts excavated at other early Spanish sites are used to identify the kinds of artifacts that may indicate women lived at a particular place, whether or not there are historical records. 7:30-9 p.m. July 19. Caregiver Education and Support Group — Near West Ina Road and North La Cholla Boulevard. The Caregiver Education and Support Program is a combination of training and group support.
