Las Vegas rallies in 11th to knock off Sidewinders

Tucson, Arizona | Published: 07.22.2004
The Las Vegas 51s overcame four deficits Tuesday night to defeat the Sidewinders 12-11 in 11 innings at Cashman Field.
Tucson second baseman Keoni DeRenne committed two errors in the 11th to allow the winning run to score. A ground ball went off his glove into right field, allowing Brian Myrow to reach first base with one out.
With two outs and the bases loaded, DeRenne cleanly fielded a grounder but lost control of the ball trying to tag runner Nick Theodorou, and Myrow scored from third.
The Sidewinders took a 10-8 lead in the eighth inning on Julio Ramirez's two-run single.
After the 51s went ahead 11-10, Josh Kroeger hit a solo home run in the ninth for an 11-all tie.
