The gallery Golf Club, South course: Greg Hansen's hole-by-hole look at the Match Play Championship course

No. 1
Par 5, 588 yards
This should be a birdie-fest unless the sloped fairway sends tee shots into the desert.
No. 2
Par 4, 467 yards
Don't go left, young man. The fairway opens generously to the right.
No. 3
Par 3, 225 yards
The green is so vast, about 40 yards in length, you can get lost among the swales.
No. 4
Par 4, 495 yards
Water on the right and length is a problem. Potential for early trouble here.
No. 5
Par 5, 635 yards
The many fairway bunkers could eat a number of second shots and lead to a bogey.
No. 6
Par 4, 450 yards
One of the most narrow tee shots required. Desert creeps in from both sides.
No. 7
Par 4, 357 yards
The bombers can drive the right front side of the green and eagles are in play.
No. 8
Par 3, 171 yards
Anything short goes into the gulch. If it's windy, it's tricky.
No. 9
Par 4, 448 yards
Birdie hole for everyone, with a generous landing area off the tee.
No. 10
Par 5, 534 yards
Length isn't a problem, but a dry creek bed and native plants split the fairway.
No. 11
Par 4, 402 yards
Everyone will lay up in front of a wash. Exactness is a must on a short iron in.
No. 12
Par 4, 362 yards
John Daly might be able to reach this green. Great spectator area.
No. 13
Par 4, 479 yards
If the pin is tucked back left, it will be the most difficult hole on the course.
No. 14
Par 3, 192 yards
A virtually hazard-free par 3, but the green is 40 yards long, so club selection is key.
No. 15
Par 4, 435 yards
Stay away from the right-center fairway bunker and it's a birdie putt for most.
No. 16
Par 3, 178 yards
The green is tricky (which one isn't?) but don't expect to see many bogeys.
No. 17
Par 5, 601 yards
It's uphill all the way to a humped green that will be difficult for anyone to hit in two.
No. 18
Par 4, 447 yards
Not a classic finishing hole and almost no trouble. A birdie-fest for those who get this far.
