The Party America store in Foothills Mall will close next month.
About a year ago, Rockaway, N.J.-based Party City bought Party America, said Michael Graham, the Party City franchisee who with his brother Tommy owns the Tucson franchises and a total of 22 Party City stores in Arizona and New Mexico.
On Sept. 15, Graham's franchise took over the Party America locations at 9620 E. 22nd St. and 4861 E. Grant Road, he said. Part of the negotiations included closing Party America's third location in Foothills Mall.
That location didn't fit with the usual Party City model, partly because of its smaller size and the fact that it was inside a mall, Graham said.
