Youths needed to cook for patients' loved ones
The Youth Volunteer Corps is seeking volunteers ages 11-18 to cook meals for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. Participants can spend a Sunday afternoon cooking a nutritious meal using local ingredients for families with loved ones in the hospital. Some cooking instruction is provided, but no previous skills are required.
The next volunteer opportunity is 3:30-6:30 p.m. Sept. 30. Fifteen volunteers are requested. For more information or to sign up, call Pam Baker at 881-3300, Ext. 124.
Girls Inc. to hold fundraiser dance
Girls Incorporated Of Southern Arizona is planning "Disco Nite," a fundraiser, and needs volunteers to assist by donating time, money or talent. .
The dance will be held at Dunbar Auditorium, 325 W. Second St., 8:30-11 p.m. Oct. 13. There will be dancing with a live DJ, contests, refreshments and snacks. Participants must be 21 or older. Training will be provided based on pre-assigned involvement. For more information call, Marian Abram 879-6816.

Here's an opportunity to teach adults English
Child-Parent Centers Inc. is seeking volunteers to teach English to adults. Several people at the Picture Rocks Community Center, 5615 N. Sanders Road in Avra Valley want to learn English so they can become contributing members of their community.
Experience is not necessary, and training and materials will be provided. Volunteers would need to be available weekly. For more information, call 882-0100, Ext. 77319.
