North Carolina's The Rosebuds stop by Solar Culture Wednesday night.

The Rosebuds are a married couple who elude genres by continually morphing their sound, from beat-up garage blues to New Wave hues.

The group's latest, the acoustic-pop goodness called "Life Like," was released in October.

Opening is Tucson singer-songwriter Tracy Shedd, who also released a new album recently, "Cigarettes and Smoke Machines."

Admission to the all-ages show is $7. It starts at 9 p.m.

Light some incense, turn off the lights and pray for the spirits of pop, nu-wave and rock to bring a band to town that also has bouncing, dance-floor inspirations.

Your hopes have brought Hollywood's Metro Station to the Rialto Theatre Tuesday.

Opening is Tyga and Cash Cash.

The all-ages show starts at 7 p.m., and tickets are $16 in advance and $18 day of show.

GWAR — of gigantic, disturbing costumes, fake-blood-spitting, goof-metal and general onstage theatrics fame — is playing the Rialto Wednesday.

Laffs Comedy Caffe will host an Okie from Muskogee, literally, when Muskogee, Okla.-born comedian BT headlines the club Friday and Saturday.

BT, who has appeared in the Sci Fi Channel's "Black Scorpion" and in the HBO movie "Suckers," was a cornerstone in the cast of the modestly successful 2006 SELLOUT comedy tour, featuring fellow comics Louis Johnston, Vince Morris and Billy D. Washington. The troupe, which had successful runs in Las Vegas and throughout the country, dubbed themselves the "Blackpack." SELLOUT was an acronym for "Serious, Educated, Laughing, Learning, Outrageous, Unique, Talented."

A highlight of that tour was the ensemble segment "Ask a Black Man Anything You've Wanted to Know But Were Afraid to Ask," which involves the audience. We're not sure if BT will do that during his performances at 8 and 10:30 p.m. Friday and 7 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday, but we're willing to bet if someone tossed out a question, he'd oblige with an answer.
