• Brewers 11, Cubs 2: In Chicago, rookie Casey McGehee had a career high four hits and five RBIs to help the Brewers pound Rich Harden and the Cubs. Mike Cameron and Sabino grad J.J. Hardy also went deep to back a solid effort by Braden Looper (7-4).
• Nationals 5, Braves 3: In Washington, Atlanta's Tommy Hanson extended his scoreless innings streak to 26 before Adam Dunn's 300th career homer as the Nationals rallied for four eighth-inning runs to beat the Braves.
• Reds 5, Cardinals 2: In Cincinnati, Micah Owings homered and pitched into the seventh inning to help the Reds beat the Cardinals. Joey Votto also homered and drove in two runs as the Reds won their third in the last four games.
• Phillies 4, Mets 1: In Philadelphia, Jamie Moyer pitched into the seventh inning, and Jimmy Rollins rapped a two-run double to power the Phillies over the Mets.
• Marlins 5, Pirates 3: In Miami, Hanley Ramirez homered, and Andrew Miller pitched effectively into the seventh inning to lead the Marlins over the Pirates.
