A man who police say stole money from a store with the motto "quick, easy, hassle-free" couldn't avoid the hassle of being arrested Tuesday morning.
A clerk at Advance America Cash Advance, 2610 N. First Ave., near Grant Road, saw two suspicious-looking men walking toward the store and called her boss. She was talking to him on the phone when the two men came in. She set down the phone, and her boss could hear the men commanding her to give them money, said Sgt. Mark Robinson, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.
Her boss hung up and called 911, he said.
One of the robbers, who pointed a rifle at the clerk, took some money from her and both men ran away, he said. No one was hurt.
A few blocks away, a patrol officer saw a man matching the description of the robber and arrested him on suspicion of aggravated assault, aggravated robbery and armed robbery, Robinson said.
A second suspect, who was caught at an apartment complex, was questioned by police. Their names had not not been released by Tuesday evening.
"It was very good thinking on the clerk's part," Robinson said, because her actions gave police a good chance of making an arrest. "Her manager did the right thing and called 911 immediately."
