Comedy Central fires up the jokes to roast 'Full House' vet Bob Saget

Tucson, Arizona | Published: 08.14.2008
Bob Saget, the foul-mouthed comedian known best for his role as the squeaky clean father figure on "Full House," received a verbal thrashing in a Comedy Central Roast that will air at 10 p.m. Sunday. John Stamos, Norm MacDonald, Jeffrey Ross and Greg Giraldo were all on hand to take the actor down a notch or two with the type of raunchy humor associated with these things.
"You are a vortex of artistic compromise," said Giraldo, during his time at the mic. "Charlie Sheen watches you and feels good about himself."
Pokes at Saget's former co-workers, the Olsen twins, about eating disorders and other touchy topics, didn't sit well with Saget. "Anybody who talks about my TV kids — that upsets me the most," he told The New York Post. "I am very protective."
Comedy Central said the roastees get the final word in editing. Let's hope Saget didn't cut too much.
