Rooney, Locksley and The Bridges at Congress on Tuesday

Tucson, Arizona | Published: 07.03.2008
Rooney is one of those mid-'00s, "The O.C."-soundtracking bands that's somehow managed to survive despite never really breaking through on a major level (although the song "I'm Shakin'" is still pretty catchy.)
The group is literally related to another generic rock band, Phantom Planet.
Rooney's singer, Robert Schwartzman, is the brother of actor Jason Schwartzman, the former drummer for P-Planet.
Rooney's forte is upbeat, poppy, English-sounding rock, and it will stop by Club Congress Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The band brings along with it Locksley, a high-energy poppy rock band that maybe should be headlining.
Also on the bill are The Bridges, who probably have the most crossover potential of all three acts. The Bridges hail from Alabama and play a kind of alt-country, harmonic pop that can recall The Dixie Chicks. The band just released its debut album, "Limits of the Sky."
The show is all ages. Cost: $13 in advance and $15 day of.
