'New Views of Saturn' lecture

Tucson, Arizona | Published: 03.22.2007
See some new views of Saturn and its giant moon, Titan thanks to the Visual and Infrared Mapping Spectrometer mounted on the Cassini spacecraft.
It's essentially a color camera that takes pictures at 352 different wavelengths. It can identify the chemical composition of a surface, atmosphere or Saturn's rings by measuring infrared as well as visible light.
