Tucson Yoga, 150 S. Fourth Ave., is honoring passes for yoga classes from the closed Providence Institute, according to Tucson Yoga co-owner Debbie Daly. Daly said Tucson Yoga would honor Providence's class tokens through the end of November.
The Providence Institute, 3400 E. Speedway, closed Thursday. Owner Noah Providence said the difficulty students of the institute's yoga instructor, massage therapist and personal trainer programs forced him to close the 10-year-old business.
Providence's former director of yoga, Allisa Herrett-Kennedy, said Friday she is working on leasing the Providence Institute's space with the intent of reopening, for classes only, as Blue Lotus Yoga.
Herrett-Kennedy said she would honor Providence Institute tokens and passes for classes at Providence, 3400 E. Speedway from 7:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. today only.
She said people interested in her attempt to reopen in a few months as Blue Lotus Yoga should contact her at bluelotusyogatucson@gmail.com
Providence has posted her information on their Web site, www.providenceinstitute.com and a form for requesting refunds for unused class passes and gift certificates.
Herrett-Kennedy said she had no information on any attempts to continue Providence's massage therapy services or to reopen the institute's yoga instructor, massage therapist and personal trainer programs.
