Sunquest names Batch as new VP
Sunquest Information Systems Inc., which markets laboratory and diagnostic information systems, named Richard Batch as vice president of product development.
Batch brings more than 20 years of experience in product development and healthcare information technology. He will manage Sunquest's global development teams and engineering staff, the company said.
Batch most recently served as vice president of information products for Cardinal Health Clinical Technologies and Services, where he managed a division of six departments with 150 employees.
Nurse practitioner joins NW office
Arizona Gastroenterology announced the addition of Patty Higgins as a nurse practitioner to its office on the Northwest Side.
A native Tucsonan, Higgins will focus on patient gastrointestinal evaluation, new patient consultation, colon cancer screenings and cancer care.
Higgins earned her master of science in nursing degree as well as her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Phoenix. She has served in the health-care field as a registered nurse for more than 12 years.
For the past eight years, Higgins has worked with Arizona Oncology Associates of Tucson.
Padgett Business franchise is sold
The Padgett Business Services at 48 N. Tucson Blvd., Suite 102, a small accounting, tax and consulting franchise, has been sold to James Pruzin and Carol Mandel, who also own another Padgett Business Services in Tucson.
The Tucson Boulevard business was owned by Gordon Henryover the past 13 years.
Mandel is certified as an enrolled agent by the Internal Revenue Service, and Pruzin is an accountant who has owned various businesses in the Tucson area in the last 30 years. Mandel and Pruzin have owned their Padgett franchise for the last eight years.
PR Society chapter announces officers
The Southern Arizona Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America has selected its officers for the 2009 calendar year.
Angela Hagen, communications and public relations manager for Our Family Services, was named president.
Other posts and their officers announced were president-elect, Lynn Perez-Hewitt; secretary, Cindy Klein; treasurer, Mark Dalessandro; and immediate past president, Mary Davis.
