Tucson-based Raytheon Missile Systems received a $111.6 million U.S. Army contract for production of the Javelin missile, the Defense Department announced Thursday.
The contract for the joint Raytheon-Lockheed Martin Corp. venture is for both the missiles and command-launch units. Javelin is a portable, precision guided-missile system that can be operated by one soldier. The project is expected to be completed by spring of 2011.
