Director of sales named at Splendido
Splendido, a continuing-care retirement community in Oro Valley,, has named Karen Kovacs director of sales.
Kovacs, a state-licensed real estate broker, has more than 26 years of real estate industry experience. Most recently, she was director of sales for Pulte Homes, where she was responsible for all sales efforts for Pulte and the Tucson region of the Del Webb brand. She also oversaw new home sales with Levitt & Sons throughout southern Florida.
Sunquest fills vice presidency
Sunquest Information Systems Inc., a provider of laboratory information systems, has hired David M. Post as vice president of strategic programs.
Post has worked in the health-care and technology industries for more than 13 years.
Post most recently was vice president of distribution in the emerging-markets segment of Cigna HealthCare. He previously worked in business development and product marketing at software maker Kintana Inc., now a business unit of HP, and also held consulting positions with Accenture and Keane.
Literacy Volunteers names manager
Robert Ojeda has joined the staff of Literacy Volunteers of Tucson as manager of the nonprofit's English Language Acquisition for Adults program.
He previously spent 16 years with Pima College Adult Education and is completing a doctorate in adult and extension education at Cornell University.
Interior design firm is given a launching
Interior designer Pamela Portwood has launched Greener Lives LLC, a full-service interior-design firm specializing in healthy, eco-friendly homes, at 5055 E. Broadway, Suite C-214.
Portwood previously was an interior designer at American Home. She spent 18 years working as a free-lance writer and art critic in Tucson, including a stint as an art columnist for the Arizona Daily Star.

RealEstate.com has new agent
Jennifer James has joined RealEstate.com as an agent at the company's office at 3175 N. Swan Road.
Previously a licensed real estate agent with Long Realty, James specializes in residential, first-time home buyers, new construction and the Downtown area. She is a member of the Tucson Association of Realtors and serves on the group's public relations and education committees.
