The Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce will host an informational session for local businesses on the dangers of storing payment-card data.

The event, part of a nationwide effort called "Drop the Data," will feature a presentation by Visa Inc. and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on safeguarding data and guarding against fraud, a press release said.

The session will be held from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Thursday at the Radisson Suites Tucson, 6555 E. Speedway. The presentation is free, but registration is required.
