Dana Horner has joined KUAT Communications Group as general sales manager, bringing 30 years of similar experience. Most recently he was the chief operating officer for a radio group in Bend, Ore.

Also joining the KUAT team are new account executives Kelly Puchowicz and Jacqueline Recinos. Puchowicz and Recinos were previously with the Arizona Lotus Corp. and R.S. Hughes, respectively. Rounding out the underwriting team is Nancy Pohanic, a three-year veteran of KUAT.

Merrill Lynch hires Pascarella as advisor

Merrill Lynch has hired Lori Pascarella as a financial advisor at its local office at 5210 E. WIlliams Circle, Suite 900. She has been active in the financial services industry for the past nine years.

Kathleen LaBenne has been promoted to assistant vice president within the Residential Management division at Tucson Realty & Trust Co. Management Services LLC. She and her team will oversee half of the Single Family Management department's 600 homes.

Steven McGarrigle, an associate broker at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, has joined the board of the early literacy program Make Way for Books.

Jimmie and Christie Noriega have moved to Sunstreet Mortgage as loan officers. They have previously worked at Pinnacle Mortgage Corp. and Home Loan Executives. Combined, they have 12 years of mortgage experience.

Angela M. Cordero has been named a financial consultant for Investment Professionals Inc., located within Canyon Community Bank. She has worked previously for companies such as Morgan Stanley and American Express Financial Advisors. Cordero received her degree in finance from the University of Arizona.

Veterinarian Dr. Brett G. Hinsch has joined Spanish Trail Pet Clinic on East 22nd Street. Hinsch has practiced veterinary medicine in Tucson since 1978. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners and a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

BioVigilant Systems has promoted Carrene Plummer to manager of quality assurance. Plummer, who recently joined the company, was formerly quality engineer. Other new hires include the following: Clive Pridmore, manager of advanced manufacturing; Jenny Schleppegrell, materials manager; and Sergio Gazic, director of marketing and sales.

Lisa Kemper has been named volunteer/community resource coordinator at Literacy Volunteers of Tucson. She was branch manager of the Community Food Bank in Green Valley before joining Literacy Volunteers.

The YMCA of Metropolitan Tucson has elected its corporate board of directors for the 2007-2009 term. They are: Helen Schaefer, chairman; Peter Beahan, vice chair; Peter Douglas, vice chair; Don Jenks, treasurer; and, Kevin Burnett, secretary. New to the board are Mary Kay Dinsmore, Don Jorgensen, Bill Ward and Xavier Manrique.
