Huntsville, Ala., is known for its rough-and-tumble prison, but it's also home base to rising punk stars Northstar.
The quartet is putting America on notice that it can rock with its freshly pressed sophomore album, "Pollyanna." The disc combines indulging sing-alongs, driving guitar riffs and acoustic-rock anthems on a buzz-begging blitz of tunes.
It comes two years after Northstar's debut album, which the Alabama boys rode hard on tour with everyone from Brand New to Taking Back Sunday to The Beautiful Mistake and fellow Alabamans Hot Rod Circuit.
Northstar lands at Skrappy's, 201 E. Broadway, Downtown, at 7 p.m. Sunday. The band will share the bill with Moneen, The Fight and Chronic Future. Admission is $8-$10 at the door or through Ticketmaster, 321-1000.
