Tucson-based Raytheon Missile Systems received an $85.3 million contract to make Excalibur projectiles for the U.S. Army, the company said Friday.
Excalibur, a joint program between Raytheon and BAE Systems AB of Sweden, is a guided artillery projectile that provides precision-strike capability at extended ranges.
The Excalibur was named among the U.S. Army's 10 Greatest Inventions of the Year for 2007.
