Arizona's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose slightly in January amid economic slowing after state officials used updated business and household surveys to recalculate and revise previous jobless rates.
The Department of Commerce puts January's unemployment rate at 4.3 percent, up slightly from December's 4.2 percent rate. The December rate had been calculated at 4.7 percent before the revision.
Data by city were not immediately avialable.
The department says the state lost of 46,000 non-farm jobs in January for a total non-farm employment of 2.6 million.
According to the department, 10 of 11 major industries lost jobs in January, with construction losing 5,300 jobs. Natural resources and mining was the only major industry picking up jobs with an increase of 100.
