Northern State, a female rap trio from New York, will play Club Congress on Monday.
The former Tegan and Sara tour mates often draw comparisons to The Beastie Boys, and their live shows bring a similar amount of energy.
The girls are promising much audience participation on this tour, so get ready.
Opening the all-ages 7 p.m. show are punkers The Dollyrots. Tickets are $9 in advance and $11 day of show.

Guitarist to play solo at Solar Culture Saturday
Moris Tepper has played guitar for such veteran acts as Captain Beefheart, Tom Waits, PJ Harvey and Frank Black.
His solo music is as across-the-board and interesting as the artists listed above, from funk to ballads to jangly rock. He's playing a solo show at Solar Culture on Saturday night. It starts at 9 p.m. and tickets are $8. Opening are Tucson's Golden Boots and Metal.
Veteran group AMC brings tunes to Plush
Veteran act American Music Club reunited in 2004 after a 10-year hiatus. "The Golden Age," which was released earlier this year, is the group's second album since the members got back together.
AMC will bring its melancholy tunes to Plush on Tuesday night.
Jose Saavedra will open the show at 9:30. Cost is $10.
