Introduce kids to classic tale
What it is: "Peter and the Wolf" — a Musical Magic for Kids Interactive Concert presentation.
Who it's for: The kids in your family.
When it is: 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Who's doing it: Music Dance Academy.
What it costs: Free, but donations are welcome.

The particulars: Introduce your children to Sergei Prokofiev's classic tale of "Peter and the Wolf" in this interactive presentation.
Along the way, they — and you — will learn about orchestral instruments, movement and dance.
The event is part of the Greater Oro Valley Arts Council's seventh season of interactive concerts especially for children. Sponsors are Long Realty Cares Foundation, the Town of Oro Valley and the Tucson Pima Arts Council.
Incidentally, you also can enjoy the weekly Oro Valley Farmers Market outside the council chambers. The hours: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Hear story, decorate cookie
What it is: "Cookie Time for Tykes!"
Who it's for: The little kiddies, those 4 and under. All children must be accompanied by and supervised by an adult.
When it is: 10:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday.
Where it is: Tucson Children's Museum, 200 S. Sixth Ave.
Who's doing it: The Tucson Children's Museum.
What it costs: No charge for the event itself, but the museum entrance fees are $5 for children ages 2-18; $7 adults and $5 seniors.

The particulars: You know what happens if you give a mouse a cookie, don't you?
Author Laura Joffe Numeroff tells you in her book: "He's going to ask for a glass of milk."
The kiddies will hear the story and enjoy decorating a non-edible cookie to take home.
