More than 1,000 volunteers are needed for the Tucson Festival of Books, to be held March 14-15 on the University of Arizona campus.

The festival is sponsored by the Arizona Daily Star and hosted and organized by the University of Arizona. Net proceeds will help promote literacy in Southern Arizona through the nonprofit Tucson Festival of Books Foundation. Go online to tucsonfestivalofbooks.org to check out the authors and to volunteer.

The festival will feature nearly 400 authors from across the country. More than 50 children's authors are scheduled to attend, including this week's featured festival authors, Susan Stevens Crummel, Karen Cushman, Gail Carson Levine and Juanita Havill.
