Expect to see some Tucson faces at this year's Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Association Telethon.
● Noah Spencer, a 10-year-old resident with spinal muscular atrophy (type 2), will be featured in a video profile that will air on the annual fundraiser's national broadcast. Noah also will appear live in a local segment on KGUN over the course of the 21-hour event.
● The Arizona Jazz Academy's 18-piece Ellington Band will get screen time too. The academy was tapped earlier this year to perform for the telethon, aired on more than 180 stations and watched by an estimated 40 million viewers in the U.S. and Canada.
In addition to helping a worthy cause, the band's appearance will be good for the city. said Doug Tidaback, the academy's music director.
"Tucson is still a growing arts community with a growing audience," he said. "This will give national attention and greater, broader support. People will see that Tucson is an area where high-quality arts are taking place."
The telethon will begin at 6 p.m. Aug. 31 and run through Labor Day.
Arizona's got Hasselhoff
It looks like the University of Arizona can add another daughter of Hollywood to its ranks.
In an interview with the "Johnjay and Rich" show on Aug. 6, "America's Got Talent" judge David Hasselhoff said his daughter, Taylor Ann Hasselhoff, will be an incoming freshman at the school.
"I love the University of Arizona. It is just terrific," said the Hoff. "I am very proud she is going there.
"I've already gone to Bed, Bath and Beyond and bought the whole place out for the dorm."
Taylor Ann might best be known for the six-minute video she took of her dad in 2007, which featured an extremely intoxicated Hasselhoff trying to eat a hamburger and talk to his daughter at the same time.
She joins the likes of Kourtney Kardashian, Nicole Richie and Christiana Barkley as famous female offspring who have attended or are still attending the UA.

The return of Don Imus
Don Imus, the nationally syndicated radio personality fired more than a year ago from CBS Radio for calling the Rutgers women's basketball team a bunch of "nappy-headed ho's," returns in syndication to KJLL (1330-AM) The Jolt on Sept. 2.
Imus has been rebuilding his radio reputation since parting ways with CBS after the incident last April. He signed a multiyear deal with Citadel Broadcasting in November and had a new version of "Imus in the Morning" up and running by December.
The Jolt will air the show, which comes complete with former I-man sidekicks Charles McCord and producer Bernard McGuirk, live on weekdays from 3 to 6 a.m.
