At Nogales, the Apaches' vaunted offense put up nearly 500 yards of total offense, but it had trouble distancing itself from what Nogales coach Vince Villanucci called a "tough, physical" Douglas squad.
Senior tailback Andy Garcia amassed 292 yards on 22 carries and four touchdowns, and Kevin Rosas added 82 yards on 10 carries. Nogales (2-0) failed to score on three occasions inside the 10-yard line.
• Highlight reel: Garcia, who is the punter, had a 75-yard TD run on a fake punt in the third quarter.
• Player of the game: Garcia's four TDs equaled his total of last week.
• By the numbers: 488. Average yards of total offense for Nogales in its first two games.
• He said it: "We stumbled a little bit, but I'm pleased because we almost had 500 yards again. We're 2-0 and we're definitely on the right track." — Villanucci
