Netscape Communicator/Navigator 4.x
According to Netscape, none of the "shipping Netscape client products"
(i.e. the Netscape browsers and email/news clients) have year 2000 issues.
The current shipping Netscape clients (at the time this is written) are
Navigator/Communicator 4.08 and Communicator 4.7.
Netscape has reported that previous version of the programs did not have
problems with the year 2000. However, there is a warning that
Communicator/Navigator versions prior to 4.06 include third-party (in
other words, "non-Netscape") Java components and digital certificates (the
portion that allows secure, online transactions) that may not be year 2000
compliant.

Netscape Navigator 3.x and 2.x
Netscape has reported that the Navigator programs do not have a problem
with the year 2000. However, there is a warning that
Communicator/Navigator versions prior to 4.06 include third-party (in

(the portion that allows secure, online transactions) that may not be year
2000 compliant.
If you want to avoid problems with Java and secure ordering, you may want
to upgrade to the latest version of Netscape Communicator. You can
