Year 2000 reference pages

While all of StarNet's equipment and software have been tested to make sure they will function properly in the year 2000, the computer or software you use to access StarNet may need to be updated.

StarNet has created this site to help you identify and repair Y2K problems. It contains information about testing your computer to see if it is "Year 2000 compliant" and lists the Y2K status of several operating systems and programs commonly used with StarNet. Those pages state what the software company says about the program and contains links to any updates the company has posted to make the program compliant.

Note: StarNet does not make software. The programs and updates linked from these pages are provided through the manufacturers' Internet sites. If you have any problems or questions concerning a specific computer, program or operating system, you should check with the manufacturer.

Below are links to the various sections. Programs are grouped by their function (i.e. web browsers, mail, newsreaders, etc.).

Computer/BIOS

Note: Macintosh computers handle dates differently than PCs. As a result, Mac computers don't have a problem with the year 2000. This does not mean that Mac programs are immune to the problem.

Operating Systems

Note: Again, this does not mean that Mac programs are immune to the problem.
