Windows Setup
Client for Microsoft Networks

1. Click on the Add button.

2. A window should appear where you select what type of component you want to install. Click on Clients to highlight it and then click on Add.

3. Another window pops up. On the left-hand side, scroll down the list of Manufacturers until you see "Microsoft" and click on it to highlight it.

4. On the right-hand side of the window, there should be "Client for Microsoft Networks". Make sure it's highlighted and then click on Ok.

5. Then you should be back to the Network window. Click on the "Identification" tab at the top of the window.

6. In this window are settings for "Computer name" and "Workgroup". You must put something in for those fields. You can use whatever you want as long as it isn't "default" or the same thing in both fields. (Most people put their first name for Computer name and their last name for Workgroup.)

7. Click on Ok.

8. Windows might prompt you for the Windows CD or a series of disks. You will need to supply this or Windows will report a bunch of missing files when you boot it next time.

9. Windows will probably prompt you to restart the computer. Go ahead and click on Yes.

Note: If it restarts and ask for a username and password, give it a username (which can be anything) but do not enter anything for the password. Just click on Ok and then click on Ok again when it asks you to confirm the password.

10. Once that is done, then continue the installation by going on to Part II.
