Changing the List Password


The list password is used by the list owner to make any changes to the list. It is orginally assigned by the listmaster when the list is created. You can use the web based utility to change the password to whatever you want.

However, if you lose the password, you can do nothing with the list until a new one is generated by the listmaster (which can take several days). Thus it's best to write down the list password and put it somewhere safe.


Changing the Password

1. Go to the Password Tool web page, http://listserv.azstarnet.com/admin/passwd.html.

2. For "List-Owner E-Mail Address" enter in your username (assuming you are the list owner).

3. For "ListServ Password" enter in the current list password.

4. For "List Address" enter in the name of the list (the mailing address for the list).

5. For "New Password" enter in what you want for the new list password.

6. For "ReEnter Here" enter in the new password again to make sure.

7. Click on Submit.

8. The password change will be sent to SmartList, which will mail you with the results.
