If you are calling an international number that only supports up to 14.4, you cannot use the regular setup you would use in the US and Canada. IBM's 14.4 access numbers require you use the SLIP protocol instead of the usual PPP.
Also, due to a lack of a reliable, freeware/shareware SLIP program, there are no setup instructions for the Macintosh.
