The password changing tool can be used to change your password from whatit currently is to something else.
There are limitations to what you can use for a password:
These restrictions are in place for your security and benefit. The StarNet User Agreement specifiesthat, "You are responsible for all use of your account(s) and for theconfidentiality of any password selected by you."
1. You will need to know your current username and password. If you haveforgotten either, you will need to call StarNet support at 618-7873.
Note: We do not keep a record of your password inhuman-readable format. If you do not remember your password, StarNetSupport will need to generate a new one. Those passwords are computer generated and cannot be chosen.
2. When you click on the link below. It will ask you your username andpassword. Your username is the three to eight character name you selectedwhen you started the account, without the"@azstarnet.com".
3. You will be taken to another page with three fields. In the firstfield, you will need to retype your current password. In the next two, youneed to type in what you want for the new password. (You need to enter itin twice because you will not be able to see what you type and you mightmistype it.)
4. Click on the Change my password button to submit the change.

It may take an hour or so for the new password to become valid on allStarNet's systems (mail, shell account, etc.). If you try to dosomething and it says the password is invalid, try using the old password.If the problem persists after a few hours, contact StarNet support at 618-7873 or support@azstarnet.com .
If you try a password that is in the dictionary of common words, then youwill receive an error to that effect. You will need to try a differentpassword.
There are similar error messages for not using a capital letter or usingless than six characters in the password.
If it says your user ID is too low, then you will need to contact StarNetSupport at 618-7873 or at support@azstarnet.com andreport the error message. Typically the problem can be resolved in onebusiness day.
