1. Go to the Apple icon in the upper left-hand corner and go down to Control Panels. In the list of control panels, select Modem. You should see a window like the one below.
2. Set the following settings:
Connect via
should be set to the port the modem is
using
Modem
should be set it for the modem you have, or if
not on the list, whichever modem your modem manufacturer recommends
as a substitute
Sound
depends on if you want to hear the modem dialing
or not
Dialing
should be set for "Tone"
3. Close the Modem control panel.
4. Open the PPP control panel. You should see a window like the one below.
5. Make sure "Registered user" is selected.
6. In there set the following settings:
Name
should be a "P" followed by your username
in all lower case.
Your username is the three to seven character name you selected when you started the account. For example, the user "support" would enter Psupport for the username.
Password
is the eight character string of letters and
numbers given to you when you set up the account. The letters are in
upper and lower case. They must be entered in the same case as they
were given to you or it will not work.
Save password
should be checked if you want PPP to save your
password. Otherwise you will be prompted to enter your password
every time you log in.
Number
should be 918-4700
7. Close the PPP control panel. Then you should be set.
