StarNet is waiving all its installation fees for DSL service and offering the first month free. We feel getting DSL into the hands of the public is so important we don't want to present any impediments to rapid adoption.
However, US West is charging both an equipment and an installation fee. This is outside of our control.
US West's installation fee for all service speeds is $69.
There is also an equipment fee which varies depending on what package you get. There are two different packages: one costs $95 and the other costs $45.
To see which one you may want, you will want to go to "New hardware options available to new DSL sign-ups" under New Topics in this FAQ.
US West also has an option where you can have a US West technician install the network card and configure the DSL "modem". They charge $145 for this service.
Below is a table of all the charges for the first month:
| Transfer Rate (kbps) | StarNet 1st Month | USWest Monthly Fee | Hardware Fee | Setup Fee | Install Fee (optional) |
