StarNet's DSL plans have several options.
The first thing to establish is that there will be two separate charges for the DSL service.
Note: Just because you have a DSL line does not automatically give you Internet access. The Qwest portion is just for converting and maintaining the current, analog phone line to a digital one.
Note: Your StarNet DSL account includes the Internet access, one account for e-mail and web space for a personal homepage, and a second account that is just e-mail only.
The prices below represents the combined prices of the
Qwest line charges and the StarNet DSL services -- in other words, no
surprises will be coming on that score.
Note: The 640k download speed is depends on the condition of the phone line. Some lines may only be able to support 512k or 256k download speeds.
Note: For the general user, 95% of Internet usage is downloading. Unless you upload large files to computers on the Internet on a regular basis, you won't really notice the difference with the faster upload speeds.
Below is a breakdown of the DSL pricing and what exactly Qwest charges (on your phone bill) and what StarNet charges (assuming credit card payment, monthly billing is an additional $2 per month).
| Transfer Rate (kbps) | StarNet Monthly Fee (credit card billing) |
