Setting Up DSL

Mac -- DHCP Disabled


1. Click on the Apple icon in the upper left-hand corner. Select Control Panels from the list. Then select TCP/IP from the control panels. A window like the one below should appear.

2. Go up to Edit on the menu bar at the top of the screen and select User Mode.

3. In the Window that pops up, set it for "Advanced".

4. Click on "OK".

5. Make sure Connect Via is set for "Ethernet".

6. Make sure Configure is set for "Manual".

7. For IP address, set the IP address to be 10.0.0.2
If you have more than one computer networked, make sure the first computer IP address is set to 10.0.0.2, the next one set to 10.0.0.3, the next 10.0.0.4 and so forth for as many computers networked.

8. Make sure Subnet Mask is set to 255.255.255.0 This number is the same for all computers networked.

9. Make sure Router Address is set to 10.0.0.1
Note, this is the router address, the address for your cisco. Where IP addresses changed per networked computer, Router Address is the same for all computers.

10. Make sure the Name Server Addresses are set to 169.197.1.3 and 196.197.1.4

11. Starting Domain Name and Ending Domain Name should both be set to "azstarnet.com".

12. Leave Additional Search Domains blank. The screen should now look like this:

13. Close the TCP/IP Control Panel.

14. When it asks to save the changes, click on Save. Restart the computer for the changes to take effect.
