2. Go over the different prices. Inform the customer that the connection fee pays (in part) for the licensed copy of software and is non-refundable.
3. If the customer is paying by billing, let them know about the 28-day grace period and they need to contact us if they wish to cancel.
4. If the customer is an employee, have them fill out a payroll deduction slip prior to signing up. Also, they must pay the connection fee of $20 in advance by check or cash before the software may be picked up. If an employee does not wish to pay by payroll deduction or automatic renewal, let them know they may be billed but it will be at full price.

6. If they don't have a StarNet account under the address, create one using "SN" for Pub and "9999999" for Route. Be sure to get the customers phone number. Go into the account and start the account using the following codes:

Press F10 to update and the customer is now started in the AS400. Note their StarNet account number.
6. If the customer wishes to pay by credit card input the information into the AS400 by pressing F11.

Press F10 after inputting all info. When using the credit card screen be aware that if you press F11 you delete all info.
7. Go to Netscape (or whatever web browser is installed). Under bookmarks, select Make User. Or, go to http://www.azstarnet.com/cs-bin/make_user
Input your username and password when promted.
8. Let the customer know they will need to select a username of three to seven lowercase letters, and they will be assigned a password. They can change the username once for free, and then there is a $5 fee. Also, they can get a new password once per month and after that there is a $5 charge per new password
9. Enter the info on the make_user form. Ask the customer what username they would like (again--between 3 and 7 characters, all lowercase). Put in the account number from the AS400, chose the correct account type, then submit the form.
10. If no one is using the username, Netscape will return with an 8 character password. Make sure that you let the customer know that the passwords are case sensitive (that upper and lower case for each letter is important) and that we don't have a copy once we give it to them. Read the password to the customer and have them read it back to you.
11. If the customer is signing up more than one person in their household, you need to submit "make_user" for each additional users. This will give each individual a mailbox, not a simultaneous login. If they want to be logged in at the same time, they need separate accounts.
12. If a business is signing up for more than one person, a new AS400 account must be set up for each person, and you must submit a "make_user" for each account. Additional users at $2.50 are available for "email only" for businesses
13. Before you let the customer go, let them know about our SNUG schedule and radio program. If they are newbies to the Internet you may also want to let them know about the discount for StarNet subscribers for the Extended University's Internet classes. For more information on that they can call 621-UofA.
14. Make sure that in the AS400 you use IUN message to record the the customer's username.
