José Maria Vilaplana

José Maria Vilaplana is traditional luthier working for Alhambra, S. L., one of the best know guitar manufacturers in Spain in which he is a partner. He is also the son of one of the firm's founders and has been working for Alhambra since 1979. Vilaplana has a workshop within the factory where he makes the instruments that bear his name. He also makes two models of guitars that are sold as luthier models under the Alhambra label. He is also the head of a ten man team responsible for construction of Alhambra's highest quality guitars, and supervises the construction of the Alhambra classical models 8C, 9C, 11C, as well as their flamenco model 10F. The instruments which he personally makes, and which bear his name, are built using traditional methods and the highest quality materials available. |
