Pedro de Miguel is the name of the firm of two makers:
Pedro Pérez and Miguel Rodriguez (born in Madrid in 1958 and 1960 respectively) . At the
age of fourteen both entered the Ramirez shop as apprentices, becoming after six
years journeymen, and eventually master craftsmen who worked on Sr. Ramirez's personal
team. They continued to work for José Ramirez until 1990. In 1991, Miguel Angel Rodriguez
Casas and Pedro Pérez established their shop. Building together, the two men
decided that since Rodriguez is such a common name, and so as not to be confused with
other guitar makers of this name, they would sell their guitars under Pedro de Miguel's
label. The quality of their guitars has led to their firm being designated as one of the
suppliers of guitars for the Real Conservatorio de Madrid; Conservatorio Professional
Teresa Berganza de Madrid; Conservatorio Superior de Oviedo; and the Conservatorio de la
Ciudad de Avila. Like other shops, they make a professional line of guitars they build by
hand themselves, and offer a line of factory made instruments built to their
specifications. |
