Jesús Bellido (born 1966) is a member of one of
Granada's leading families of guitar makers. Both his father, Manuel López-Bellido and
his uncle José López-Bellido have achieved international fame as luthiers.
Taught by his
father, Jesús began building guitars when he was 14 years old. He has had his own shop
since 1989. Jesús makes the traditional small bodied guitars derived from Torres typical
of the Granada school. He builds entirely by hand, using traditional methods.
Because his work is not yet as well know as that of his famous father and uncle, his
guitars are still affordable. |
