Question: What is dada art?
Answer: According to Artcyclopedia, Dada or dadaism originated in Zurich, Switzerland, as a protest by a group of European artists against World War I, the bourgeois society that they believed inspired the war, and the conservatism of traditional thought.
French artist Jean Arp and writers Hugo Ball and Tristan Tzara were among the founders.
Its followers used absurdities and non sequiturs to create art and performances that defied intellectual analysis. The origin of the name dada is unclear. The movement lasted from 1916 to 1924.
