The University of Arizona has selected a new architecture dean and will have interim deans appointed after this semester for nursing and humanities.
Janice Schach of Clemson University will take over for Charles Albanese on July 1 as dean of the UA's College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, said Provost Eugene Sander.
Albanese has had a four-decade career as a professor and administrator. He retired in 2002 before returning as dean in 2005.
Sander also announced that Carolyn Murdaugh, a professor and associate dean of the College of Nursing, will serve as interim dean of the college starting May 19, taking over for Marjorie Isenberg.
The UA is also searching for an interim dean for the College of Humanities to start by July 1, when Dean Charles Tatum will return to the faculty, Sander said.
