Sahuarita police are looking for a man who stopped a vehicle Monday afternoon with a red emergency light on his pickup, then threatened the motorist with a gun.
Sahuarita police Officer Sam Almodova said the man was driving a white mini-pickup with a red emergency light on the dashboard that he used to pull over a vehicle on Rancho Sahuarita Boulevard, in the northern portion of town.
The woman turned off Rancho Sahuarita Boulevard onto a side street, but did not roll down her window when the man approached, the officer said.
The woman told police that the man "pointed the gun at her," and told her to roll down her window, Almodova said. The woman refused, then drove away and reported the incident.
The man appeared to be Hispanic, but spoke without an accent. He was stocky, 250 to 280 pounds, 5 feet 11 inches tall, about 50 years old, with dark hair that was shorter in the front, longer in the back, Almodova said.
The man was wearing jeans, a long-sleeve tan and brown horizontal-striped shirt, with black-and-white snakeskin cowboy boots.
His truck was an older mini-pickup with some body damage on the driver's side near the tailgate.
Anyone with information should call the Sahuarita Police Department 344-7000, 911 or 88-CRIME.
