Raising awareness about ongoing genocide in Darfur is the mission of a public event that students at Catalina Foothills High School are hosting Saturday night.
The event will feature clips from "The Devil Came on Horseback," a documentary about the experiences of photographer and U.S. military observer Brian Steidle in Darfur, as well as another film titled "Beyond the Gates."
Students from Catalina Foothills' chapter of Students Taking Action Now in Darfur (STAND), a national youth-based organization, are the event's sponsors, and they expect to have local experts give an update on the crisis in Darfur.
