Did you know . . .
The UA's earliest dormitories were built in the 1890s.
North Hall was built in 1896; in 1913 its name was changed to Pima Hall. In 1938 the name was changed back to North Hall and the building was converted to offices and classrooms. It was demolished in 1957 to make way for the Geology Building.
South Hall was built in 1899 and its name was changed to Apache Hall in 1920. In 1925, the building became the home of the Department of Music. It was demolished in 1958 and the site was used for the School of Home Economics.
A temporary dormitory for 16 men was built in 1896. It was moved in 1902, and in 1905 it blew over in a storm.

University of Arizona students began moving into dorms Wednesday, meeting new roommates, with classes set to start Monday.

freshmen are expected at the UA, the most ever.

students in total are projected to be enrolled.

years ago, the university welcomed 4,578 freshmen. Tuition and mandatory fees totaled $2,058 then. They are $5,037 now.

students have been assigned to temporary living spaces. On-campus housing is full beyond capacity. A waiting list for campus housing started on May 4 and has stretched past 650 names.

students (approximately) live in 21 residence halls. Residence Life is moving ahead with plans to build two more dorms at the south end of campus.
