A TUSD school bus driver was cited Wednesday morning after he pulled out in front of a vehicle, causing his bus to be rear-ended, authorities say.
At the time of the accident, 47 Cholla High School students were on board, but no injuries were reported, said Barbara Flowers, a Tucson Unified School District spokeswoman.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the school bus was pulling onto West Ajo Highway, near South Camino de Oeste, shortly after 7 a.m. when a car clipped the rear of the bus.
The bus driver, Orlando Herradora, was cited for failure to yield to a stop sign, said Officer Jim Oien, a DPS spokesman.
The students on the bus had to be picked up by another school bus and were late for their first class, Flowers said.
No further information was available Wednesday.
